Attend a Weekly Library Program
Attend a weekly library program that you’ve never been to before! Check out the events calendar on our library websites to find a program you are interested in – everything from Tai Chi to Bridge to Pinochle to Civic Conversations and more. Weekly adult programs are mostly held at the Bloomsburg Public Library. (Book club events and author talks do not count for this challenge.)

Become a Library Super User

(If you need help, ask a librarian!)

Become a Friend of the Library
Make a donation to become a Friend of the Library to the library or libraries of your choice! Donations of any amount will make you an annual member of the Friends of the Library organization for the Bloomsburg Public Library or the Traveling Library. (The Orangeville Public Library does not have a separate Friends organization, but relies on donations as well.) Our libraries do not receive full government funding and need to collectively raise $250,000 every year from generous library supporters who give $5, $500, or anything in between!

Support a Library Fundraiser
Our three libraries put on a variety of fun community fundraisers to help raise the the $250,000 we need to operate every year. Support an event like Library Bingo (Saturday, July 12), Verses in the Vineyard (August TBD), the Bloomsburg Library Book Sale (June 10-14), the Orangeville Library Book Sale (July 18-26), the Summer Read-A-Thon (all summer), or the Color Run (Saturday, August 2). Can’t attend? You can be a sponsor!

Advocate for Your Libraries
Write a letter of support to PA Senator Lynda Schlegel Culver, PA Representative Robert Leadbeter, and/or your local township or borough officials to let them know how much you enjoy using the public library and to ask them to provide more funding. Start at www.bloomsburgpl.org/advocate for addresses and online contact forms.4
