Train Ride Fundraisers
These rides are brought to you by Downtown Bloomsburg, Inc. and the Bloomsburg Public Library in partnership with the North Shore Railroad and the SEDA-COG Joint Rail Authority
Looking for Halloween fun? These one-hour train rides are perfect for kids and adults alike! Each car features a costume contest, with the winner receiving a free ticket to the upcoming North Pole Express Train Rides!
Ticket Prices:
- Adult/Teen – $16
- Children (ages 3 – 12) – $12
Children under 2 are free, but they must sit on a lap. - Quiet Car – $16
All riders are expected to keep noise to a minimum and there will not be music or costumed characters.

Looking for a peaceful fall foliage journey? This two-hour train ride is perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy the scenery! This ride will not have any costumed characters, costume contests, or music. Please feel free to bring your own music with headphones!

IS THERE A FEE?
The ticket form asks you to make an optional contribution to Zeffy. This is not required! You can change the suggested Zeffy contribution to any amount you choose, including $0, before making your purchase.
ARE TICKETS REFUNDABLE?
Tickets are non-refundable. If you cannot use your tickets, you can transfer them to someone else. Please let us know by sending an email to service@bloomsburgpl.org.
DO CHILDREN PAY FOR A TICKET?
Children ages 3 – 12 must pay for a reduced-cost ticket. Children under 2 who can sit on an adult’s lap are FREE!
WHO BENEFITS FROM THIS FUNDRAISER?
Proceeds benefit two nonprofit organizations. Downtown Bloomsburg, Inc. uses these funds to improve and promote our town, and the Bloomsburg Public Library uses these funds to add new books to our community library.
WHERE DOES THE TRAIN DEPART FROM?
All trains depart from the railroad intersection near 420 West 5th Street, Bloomsburg, PA 17815. Take Railroad Street past the intersection of Railroad and 5th Streets. Signs and volunteers will direct you to the parking lot and the train.
WHERE CAN I PARK?
FREE parking is available adjacent to the train boarding site near 420 West 5th Street – volunteers and signs will direct you to the parking lot. If you have mobility issues, there is a limited amount of parking near the registration tent. Please notify one of the parking attendants when you arrive.
ARE THE TRAIN CARS HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE?
Due to the antique nature of the train cars, they are not wheelchair accessible and may be difficult for those with mobility concerns. Passengers must be able to navigate a few stairs and be able to walk within an aisle.
WHERE DOES THE TRAIN TRAVEL?
For the 10 am and 12 pm rides, the train departs from Bloomsburg and travels west, towards Danville, for approximately two miles past the Rupert Covered Bridge. It follows the same route on its return trip to Bloomsburg. For the 2 pm ride, the train departs from Bloomsburg and travels to Northumberland and follows the same route on its return trip to Bloomsburg.
CAN FOOD AND BEVERAGE BE BROUGHT ON TRAIN?
Bottled water is allowed. All other food and beverages are not allowed on board the train.
WHAT ACTIVITIES OCCUR ON THE TRAIN?
For the 10 am and 12 pm rides, there will be a costume contest in each train car for the children in costumes. Each winner will receive one free ticket to the November 28th and 29th North Pole Express train rides. In addition, Commonwealth University – Bloomsburg students will entertain children as costumed characters.
WHAT IS THE QUIET CAR?
There is one car on the 10am and 12pm train rides that will be designated for passengers who want a quieter experience without the bustle of the costume contest and all the children having fun. All passengers will be expected to keep conversations quieter and to avoid disruptive behavior. There are only 80 seats.
CAN I BRING MY ANIMAL ON THE TRAIN?
Only service animals are allowed on the train. Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted.
